Home now

So we are home now. It has taken a couple of days to settle back in to home routine. I gave up writing about the last 2 days of the holiday because i only have two followers. (Thank you heaps for following guys.) I sort of lost sight as to why i was doing this blog. But i realised i am doing it for fun. Just cause i can do it. A is talking at a million miles an hour. talk, talk, talk. motormouth. Grr! And if i try to say something, he will talk over the top of me. Its so annoying and he knows he does it and how it pisses me off but he can't help himself.
Anyway, just a short entry today. I found this interesting blog called http://www.whatsgoingonwithoz.blogspot.com/
its really interesting, even though it has just started. Everyone should have a look at it. Scary stuff.

Day 4

So the lobster was....AMAZING! It was so meaty! There was so much meat in the tail. All i had for dinner was lobster meat and i was so full at the end. Worth the one hundred dollars A spent on it.
So today we didn't do much. I went up to the camp office to pay for an extra day. We are having such a great time i wanted to stay another night. I love the freedom of being able to do that and not have to ask anyone exept A, but he had the same idea. Luckily the cabin wasn't booked until the day we are now due to leave.
I went kayaking today! Another thing i have not been able to do since i was a kid. And last time i did try it, i fell in the water and got giardia. It's a bacteria and boy was i sick! I was on a camp and it made me so sick i had to be taken home. I think that is the most ill i have ever left.
But i did not have that problem this time. It was hard work actually, but great fun. A took some pics but he didn't zoom in so i won't even bother putting them up, however, there is a video. Excuse the use of the F word.
Also, today was the first overcast day we have had since we have been here. And that was ok because it still didn't rain.
So we just relaxed today really. I talked to a water skiier from New Zealand, he was friendly. Though i have noticed that everyone is friendly when your on holiday and that makes such a difference. If only people could be like that when they are not on holidays.
So only a short entry today. Not sure what we are doing tomorrow. Thats the beauty of holidays.

Day 3

So today we went to South West Rocks. It is another coastal town only about 40mins north of Port Mac. The weather was so nice, The beach was right next to the shops so it was a bit windy but it was really warm so the wind was lovely. We were going to sit in one of the outdoor cafes and have lunch but every one we went to, They had signs up saying "No dogs allowed" So we bought take away coffees and sat in the beach car park and watched the waves. I thought we had the best seat there anyway.
we also walked around the shops and i bought a new bikini (That makes three now) and i bought a kite!!!
I haven't flown a kite since i was a kid....Turns out it's just like riding a bike. Luckily it was windy back at the park so there was no worries getting it to fly. But the birds weren't too happy to see it. They continuously dive bombed it. They probably thought it was some huge bird after their babies. Was funny to watch.
A also bought me dinner for tonight. A big lobster! It is nearly as big as Frankie the dog, and he definitely wanted no part of going near it.
I put my best game show face. "And you could win this tasty lobster!" I'll also have you know that this lobster was a blue ribbon one. Hence the blue tag on the feeler thing.

And on the drive home there were some huge mountains that looked so green!

Damn It! I tried to upload the vid but it didn't work. I will try and post it at a later date.
And apologies to vegan's or vegetarians about me going on about eating lobster. But yes, I eat meat, I believe in the food chain. And in case you were wondering, i am a animal lover. Of EVERY animal. Even snakes and eels.
I didn't manage to take photos of the kite flying but i think you have seen a kite in the air.
So, tomorrow i think we are just going to have a rest day. We have been out and about every day since we have been here. Plus there are great things to do here at the park. I want to try kayaking. They are free to use here.
Till tomorrow...

Day 2

The weather is amazing. There is a cool wind and the sun is shining. We went to Port Macquarie and walked all along the break wall. The break wall was really something of a work of art. All of the rocks are painted by all sorts of people all over the world. I saw rocks painted by people from Switzerland, Scotland, Japan, America, Ireland. Any country you can think of, it was painted on the rocks. The pictures below are just some of the rocks. The break wall is about 4 and a half kilometres long.

The bottom photo i came across on the walk back to the car. We went on holiday to get out of the Blue Mountains and we saw them anyway!
One couldn't have asked for more perfect weather for the day. Frankie, my dog was very happy to walk along with us. We walked a fair way too, 4 hours all up. by the time we were nearly back at the car, Frankie was so tired, i had to pick him up and carry him. He was lumbering along. I forgot he would get tired quicker cause his legs are so tiny. He did good though. The photo with 'Emily the strange' has Frankie in it. Its funny cause a few shots after that photo was taken, he cocked his leg on the rock. It was ironic.

The above video is Frankie. He has never been on the beach or big rivers. It was funny to watch him biting at the little waves. And the little argument is just of Andy and I. Don't worry, we always pick at each other and its all in fun.  We went to this lake after lunch. I can't remember the name of it, but the river runs right under the Pacific Highway. The highway is one of the main roads that runs right up the coast of east Australia. It goes north towards Queensland. And i apologise in advance for the sound. It was windy and the mic on the camera picked everything up.
Tomorrow we are going into Kempsey and South West Rocks to have a look around there. Kempsey is about 30 mins north of Port Macquarie.
For dinner tonight, fresh oysters. Yum!

Arrived!

So we arrived at Stoney Park at about 9 this morning. We stopped after 6 hours of driving so A could have a sleep, That was at about 5am. We both slept in the car for a couple of hours. When i woke up, i went to find a toilet in the park we stopped at. I realised that the only toilet there was a huge hole in the ground with a toilet seat on top. I didn't like the thought of doing my business down a hole, It scared me actually. So i waited.
When we arrived at the park, The sun was shining and it was lovely and warm. We were about an hour early, check-in was at 10am. So we went to the corner shop and bought milk, coffee and some cold drinks to keep us going till we settled in.

The first pic is of the large pond at the front of the park. And the second pic is of our cabin (With A trying to fix my computer) Like i said, as soon as we got to the park, my modem decided to die for the duration of the entire holiday.
The cabin was great. 2 bedroom with a front veranda. Nice little bathroom. It was better than i imagined. Just like a little house. I could live there quite happily.
When we got settled into the cabin, I had a nap cause i was so tired after only having about 2 hours sleep on the drive up there.
The park is so relaxing. The wind is nice with the sunshine and the lake just 40 meters away. My dog took the drive well. He wasn't car sick, but he is used to being in the car, this was his longest trip. I was surprised at how well behaved he was. Frankie is a good little dog anyway but he travelled well, we pulled over every two hours to give him a walk and toilet break and a drink. He was allowed to stay in the cabin with us, The first night he was a bit unsettled but i let him sleep under my covers at night, so he was happy (And spoilt) And was only too happy to make his mark and pee on every free standing object around.

The pic is of me and Frankie. No matter where i was, he was never far away. I couldn't wait to lay in the sun! (I'm like a lizard, i could lay in the sun all day) Tomorrow we are going into Port Macquarie. It's a town that relies on fishing and tourism to keep it going. (I think so anyway) and it's a beautiful place with a few beaches. So i will take more pics and vids and post them tomorrow.
This vid is when we pulled into Macca's at about 4 in the morning. It's only short and not great, but there will be more great vids to come over the next few days.
I couldn't believe how amazing i felt as soon as we got to Stoney Park. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Now, i understnad that there are plenty of holiday parks around that are great, but the last time i was in one was on holidays with my family when i was in primary school (And we were in a tent). This is my first holiday as an adult. Paid for all by myself, I organised the whole thing and

Sorry! No internet!

So this is me at Port Macquarie. We got there at 9am and we had to wait for an hour or so for our cabin to be ready. Whilst we were waiting,  I went to write a blog entry and my internet gave out. Something in the modem stuffed up, therefore, i was without internet for the whole duration. And this really pissed me off because, as you know, the whole reason for this blog was to publish my holiday. But now i am back online, i am going to post it as if the net was working. So over the next 5 days, i will post things so you dont have to read everything in one go.
Damn technology!

The Anger of a Woman!

So i went up to the shop today to get some milk. The car park at the little shopping centre is famous for getting dints and bangs in the sides of your car due to old people who cant see over the wheel of thier car, or stupid women driving 4WD's. (No, don't bother calling me sexist, its logic. I wouldn't drive one of them in a suburban area)
But today i took a chance, and as you readers know, i drove my new car up there. (The car that i have only had for a month). So i go in the shop, get the milk, pay for said milk and get in the car and drive the 375 meters back home. Then A comes outside to show me what he bought this morning from town and he sees it... The tail light is smashed.
Someone had reversed out of thier parking spot and backed right into my car! And instead of stopping and leaving a note on my windscreen, (You know those notes "Im sorry i bumped your car, Heres my number...")
I was so angry that people don't even care about other peoples property. And in times like these, its hardly an easy thing to just go out and get the electrics repaired and a new tail light. These things are pricey! But know, The people who hit and run don't care! But i am willing to bet $100 that if this happened to those people, they would crack it and feel the same way!
I was bought up to treat others how you want to be treated and i try to do that every day. And i can honestly say that if i had bumped into someones care and left damage, i would leave them my details!
After i discovered this financially pricey and not pretty vandalising of my car, i actually fantasised about what i would have done and said to the person if i had caught them. I thought about taking a base ball bat to their car plus other assorted thoughts that may deem me insane in some countries.
And another point: If i had witnessed such a thing happening to someone Else's car, i would help them out and get the number plate so i could give to the victim.
Just shows what sort of careless world we live in. Not even your neighbours will look out for you these days.
But the plus side, We are leaving for our holiday on Friday.

Still counting down.

I can’t believe there is still 7 days to go till we go away! The time can’t go fast enough! I have the suitcases laid out in the spare room ready to be packed. I even have a little suitcase on wheels for my dog and his stuff. Just blankets and towels, shampoo, leads... all that stuff a social butterfly dog needs for his first real holiday. But i digress. I have already dug out my blow-up li-lo (Which is like a blow up mattress for pools) and tomorrow i’m going to test it to see if there are holes in it. And considering i have only used it once, there shouldn’t be any holes in it.
I haven't been on a real holiday in so long. I can't wait to be driving in the sunshine with my sunnies on and the heat in the car. Then getting to our cabin and checking out the lake. Hopefully it will be warm enough to go for a swim.
While i was motivated and going through everything to find my li-lo i organised my wardrobe. I threw out all the clothes i don’t like or want anymore, (and i didn’t through them out, i put them in a bag and am going to put them in the charity bin... good Samaritan and all that) and now my clothes are in two wardrobes (One walk in robe, the other is a normal size one) and one tall boy (Was two tall boys) Yes, i do have a LOT of clothes. But now they are all in one spot (sort of) and organised.
